IEX - Insulation Expo Europe on Course for Growth

14 Mar 2016

• Trade Fair for Industrial for Industrial Insulation Materials features new themes and ranges

• 200 exhibitors from 20 nations

• New fire protection area at the trade fair

Energy efficiency and climate protection have become market drivers across all of Europe creating a constant rise in demand for insulation materials. This market growth will be demonstrated by IEX – the Insulation Expo Europe (previously known as ISO) from 11 to 12 May in Cologne. 200 exhibitors from 20 countries have registered for participation at IEX 2016 – as many as ever.

IEX presents the full gamut of materials and processing options in heat, cold, sound and fire protection. At its 10th anniversary edition Europe’s leading trade fair for insulation materials will be on top form – boasting more exhibitors and more exhibition space plus new activity areas with live demonstrations and hands-on forums.

1998 saw the trade fair kick off as ISO, which quickly developed into an international meeting point for the industry. Last year the trade fair was given a new name and as IEX – Insulation Expo Europe the trade fair now continues on its course for growth.

New Faces to IEX 2016

More than 50 international exhibitors will be taking part for the first time, including ASPEN AEROGELS from the USA, Sager AG from Switzerland, Tinby from Denmark, SUM from Poland, 3i International Innovative Industries from Greece, ISIDEM YALITIM from Turkey and IPCOM n.V. Insulation Products from Belgium.

Add to this the many well-known industry icons and regular exhibitors – from Rockwool, Paroc and ISOVER tor KNAUF, Schwartmanns, MABI, Kespet and KAIMANN or G+H. Representing the high-temperature field in Cologne are Morgan, M.E. Schupp, Lippmann, Promat and Firewheel. Woven textiles will be presented by Culimeta, Hiltex, Sim-Tex, Miftari, TBA Textiles and THS Industrial Textiles. A total of 20 nations will be represented at IEX 2016.

New Fire Protection Segment at IEX

In cooperation with FeuerTRUTZ Network, IEX 2016 is to highlight the fire protection theme because visitors take an avid interest in this: one in three IEX visitors is specifically looking for fire protection solutions at the trade fair. This is why the trade fair will feature a fire protection segment for the first time. Here specialised suppliers will showcase their solutions – ranging from thermal protection wovens to fire protection foam and partitioning.

Premiere I: the IEX Forum

Fire prevention will also be an issue addressed at the new IEX Forum. At this lecture forum exhibitors will deliver technical talks on current trends and sector-specific subjects. The programme is also the result of a cooperation between the European association FESI, the EIIF (European Industrial Insulation Foundation – which is presenting the first EiiF TIPCHECK Report) and the FeuerTRUTZ Network (fire protection specialist also providing information, amongst other things, on the amendment of the Model Building Regulation). Other subjects covered at the Forum will include dry walling, calculation software and the interplay of ecology and economy.

Premiere II: Product Demonstration Area

Marvel, try out, enquire – at the new Product Demonstration Area visitors can take a closer look at the latest innovations on the market. In this area selected exhibitors such as ISOVER, mit, PERI and SIM-TEX will be presenting their processes and procedures using live demos and innovative exhibits. Presentation of the IEX Award Outstanding product innovations will also be recognised with the IEX Award this year. An expert jury will be assessing the submitted products from the areas of machinery and tools, insulation materials, auxiliaries, IT and equipment. The award presentation will be held at the IEX Forum on 11 May 2016 from 3.00 pm onwards. The award-winning products will be exhibited at the Product Demonstration Area.

European Insulation Championship 2016

The importance of solid training for the industry is shown by the FESI Apprentice Championship held at IEX for the first time. Here the best apprentices from the FESI member states will compete with each other to demonstrate the high standards complied with in insulation and cladding works. The FESI Champions will be presented as part of the IEX Night at the end of the first trade fair day.

IEX Night at Cologne’s “Tanzbrunnen” Venue

The first trade fair day will draw to a close with the IEX Night, the big get-together of the sector. In a relaxed setting visitors will have the opportunity to experience Cologne at its most beautiful: the Tanzbrunnen venue located right on the banks of the Rhine is one of the city’s most iconic venues. Here both exhibitors and visitors will be given the opportunity to foster existing contacts and make new ones. The IEX Night starts at 7.00 pm. Tickets priced € 85.00 are available from the IEX Online Ticket Shop.
