The best from advertising technology: Diverse portfolio on display at viscom frankfurt 2016

For the 30th time this year, viscom frankfurt will become the international meeting place for advertising technicians.  From Wednesday to Friday, 2 to 4 November 2016, the key advertising technology players will showcase the industry’s latest techniques, processes and applications at viscom SIGN. Moreover, numerous well-known manufacturers of printing presses and signmakers will tailor their offerings to advertising technicians, and sign and illuminated-advertising manufacturers. Marking viscom’s anniversary will be the big premiere of the show & do arena featuring top picks from 30 years of advertising technology. Exciting workshops, lectures and the opportunity to participate in the European Wrap Star complement the extensive programme for advertising technicians.

Some 40 per cent of the exhibitors will present ranges specifically aimed at advertising technicians, and sign and illuminated-advertising manufacturers. Once again this year, visitors can look forward to a massive assortment of products and services presented by an array of top-notch exhibitors. Karl Gröner, Yellotools, Aluvision, Complott, geonit and IGEPA have already booked their stands at viscom SIGN. Brunner, Print-Equipment, Multi-Plot, Comhan and, for the first time this year, APA Italy will also attend the international trade fair for visual communication.

Similarly, manufacturers of printing presses will present an assortment geared toward advertising technicians. HP, Mimaki, OKI, Fujifilm, Roland DG, Mutoh, KIP Deutschland, Epson and many more will be on hand in Frankfurt in 2016. Also offering a comprehensive signmaking range will be the likes of Crown Norge, Zünd Systemtechnik, ESKO, Walter Schulze and Wallburg.


A look at 30 years of advertising technology

Featuring the slogan “30 years leading visual business”, a special area will be added to mark the 30th anniversary of viscom: the show & do arena in Hall 8. New life will be breathed into traditional technologies, because many of them aren’t merely still relevant to today’s operations – they might even deliver a competitive edge. Participation at the new special area isn’t just allowed, it’s absolutely encouraged. Hands-on activities range from HP offering visitors an opportunity to design, print and install their own wallpaper to novel neon printing techniques presented by Gröner. Buth will use an antique engraving machine to grant visitors a look at engraving techniques of the past. A-Blok’s presentation, in contrast, will be ultra-contemporary: the company will demonstrate how to use digital graffiti to visualise ideas and actively involve guests. Visitors can stop by Epson’s stand to print their own T-shirts, which will make a beautiful viscom souvenir. All viscom attendees are welcome to participate, watch and experience everything free of charge.


Rüdiger Maaß and »go:visual« on interiors

Together with the industry initiative »go:visual« by the media-production trade association f:mp., Rüdiger Maaß will cover all things interiors. He’ll focus on storytelling for rooms – analogue and digital – while answering the question how advertising technology and visual communication can help to touch people. Plus, he’ll explore how rooms transform into an experience, what digital printing and digital communication can accomplish, and what kind of customisation options exist. Then he’ll address the issue of just how personal communication may get these days.

Presentation programme for advertising technicians

On Friday, the Speakers Corner will be a particularly exciting place to be for advertising technicians. The Interior Design focus day will put a spotlight on emotional room staging and all-encompassing experiences, illuminating among other issues, the relationship between analogue and digital: topics include virtual brand worlds and real-time experiences, plus the nexus between digital possibilities and analogue sensuality. The digital printing revolution shaking up interior design will also be discussed. One emphasis will be on the factors that require special attention when it comes to beautifying ceiling, wall and floor. Illustrative best practices will bring the topic alive.

Adobe and Corel workshops

Another programme highlight: Adobe and Corel workshops. Graphic designers and advertising technicians will get an overview of both programs, along with helpful expert tips and tricks on new features.

European Wrap Star

The European Wrap Star is a particular highlight specifically aimed at car wrappers and experienced wrapping pros. The MP Clipart crew is hosting the award for what will already be the eighth time. In the five-round contest staged in Hall 8 at viscom, participants will get a chance to show off their skills and win amazing prizes. Daily: Happy Hour

To mark the 30th anniversary, viscom would like to thank all visitors and exhibitors for their loyalty by inviting them to a free reception featuring refreshing sparkling beverages. The Happy Hour will take place right at the trade fair on Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 pm and on Friday from 3:30 pm.
