• Registration for the official Sustainability Awards of the promotional product industry
• Award is presented in eight categories on 8 September 2017 in Wiesbaden
Sustainability 3.0 – The PSI Sustainability Awards are to enter their third round. After autumn 2016 saw the coveted awards for outstanding, “green” initiatives and sustainable engagement in the promotional product industry being presented by the PSI Network for the second time, PSI members and non PSI-members can now once again enter their products, campaigns or companies for the awards online. Deadline for entries is 15 May 2017.
“Green” promotional products are very much on trend. Sustainability is more than a fashion fad here. Sustainability is a commitment and as such is gaining increasing importance in the promotional product industry. All the more important is transparency to stay on top of things in view of the complexity and multitude of certificates of varying quality and to contain the spread of “greenwashing”. This is the point of departure for the PSI Sustainability Awards, which were presented in 2015 for the first time and provide the promotional product sector with valuable orientation. Already today they are deemed a reliable indicator of companies’ sustainability, their own initiatives, their products and their campaigns.
Categories and Terms of Participation
As in the previous two years the PSI Sustainability Awards will be presented in the eight categories Economic Excellence, Ecological Excellence, Social Excellence, Ecological Initiative, Social Initiative, Product, Campaign and PSI Sustainable Company of the Year 2017. With KAHLA Environmental Excellence 2017, Intertek Social Excellence 2017 and Touchmore
Sustainable Product 2017 this year sees the second, third and sixth award categories being sponsored by companies.
Those eligible for participation in the PSI Sustainability Awards 2017 are both PSI members and non-members – in other words: all companies from the promotional product industry both national and international. Producers, importers, promotional product agencies and distributors can register for all categories online. For the Product and Campaign categories users and designers can also register. Registration for PSI members costs between EUR 190 and EUR 230, for non-members between EUR 380 and EUR 460.
From transparent product guidelines and processes through to corporate culture and social commitments – all aspects of the entries are judged according to objective criteria in a two-tier system. In a first step all uploaded certificates are assessed by means of an underlying scoring system. Here the more demanding the profile of a certificate, the higher the number of points. The expert jury then gives scores in the Ecological Initiative, Social Initiative, Product and Campaign categories. Added up the points decide which company receives a PSI Sustainability Award in each of the categories. Category 8 recognises the overall winner that results from adding up all the points achieved in the individual categories 1 to 7.
The PSI Sustainability Awards will be presented as part of a gala at Kurhaus Wiesbaden on 8 September 2017. Awards will be presented in eight categories. For further information and procedure details go to: www.psi-awards.de
