Mills, films and printers: viscom 2015 for Advertising Technology

Harmuth Werbetechnik, Haas & Co., Promic, Karl Gröner, Crown Norge, The Channel Letter Bender or GOQ and Zünd: They are specialists in the technology, processes and applications of sign making. viscom – an international trade fair for visual communication – offers sign making every year at the most frequented exhibition region.

From 4-6 November, he is re-appointed as the correspondent for advertising technology and co. The offers of the key players are also supplemented by a comprehensive framework programme: The entire viscom - Friday is dedicated to the subject of advertising technology.

In a traditional sense, signmaking at viscom occupies approximately 4,600 square metres of the largest area. In terms of visitors, the congestion is also greatest. In 2014, approximately 13 percent of viscom visitors are from advertising technology and are interested in magnetic films, mills, display, printing or coating systems. In 2015, Hall 8b of viscom, advertising technology also finds input on current trends and new solutions as well as all those they require for their sustainably successful business.

Mobile presentation, displays and films

The Dutch importer and wholesalers for mobile presentations system of Promic will be represented at the viscom stand. By the same token is GOQ LED europe. In this case, SAMSUNG LEDs involve the neon sign sector. The Korean business uses these to handle them in different configurations for the neon sign sector. They are employed in world trade marks, such as McDonalds, KIA motors, BP station or Nissan Cars.

"viscom is an ideal fair to show us that our target groups are competent and efficient suppliers of materials for print and display," explains Oliver Höflich, Executive Officer of Kohlschein from Viersen. "This year, the focus of our fair appearance is also on high-quality plate materials for display purposes and visual communication.

"We will place a strong focus on KAPA lightweight foam boards and environmentally friendly display plates, such as the KROMA display cardboards, FALCONBOARD honeycomb panels and the new paper-based plate from 3A Composites with the name DISPA. This process involves 100% recyclable white display paper plate with a unique embossed paper centre, matt coated paper deck cover layers and an insert made of embossed paper. The light and stable plate material is ideally suitable for the direct digital pressure or digital cutting."

Haas & Co. Magnettechnik summons up this year's viscom in the practice test. "On the experience post at the fair stand, our Magnetoflex magnetic film and the iron-based products show their strengths, i.e. simplest handling, high flexibility and extreme durability. When used as advertising or price tag, they not only help with advertising technology and shop fitting with working time, but also save material consumption. The Magnetoflex magnetic films are flexible, absolutely bulk-resistant and can be rapidly attached thanks to the magnetic power, can be removed at any time and can always be reapplied. When combined with iron-based products, they also safely adhere to all non-iron-containing substrates," explains Christopher Haas, Executive Director of Haas & Co.

From laser engraving to textile printing

viscom visitors receive a comprehensive insight in laser technology at the Austrian company, Trotec Laser, the product range of which comprise of the precise laser engraving and exact laser cutting of wood, metals, acrylic, glass, textiles, plastics and many other materials. Advertising technology and textiles, textile direct printing, screen printing, transfer film or illuminated advertising are offered by Karl Gröner, a successful, owner-operated, medium-sized family business associated since 1946 as a wholesaler with the advertising technology market. Neschen offers professional coating of printable materials.

Mills, printers and tools

CNC portal mills are the specialty of Harmuth Werbetechnik . The machines are characterised by simple operation and professional software. All machinable materials are milled, bored, engraved, processed or friction stir welded. Milling machines are also specialities at BUTH Graviersysteme, a specialist in milling, engraving and lasers as well as The Channel Letter Bender. Using the technology from the Dutch company, illuminated letters are automatically placed and bent.

The Belgian company ESKO also offers the integrated solutions for the packaging industry, advertising technology, job printing and the professional publishing area on site. Print Equipment is the specialist for printing systems, transfer presses and sublimation items with headquarters in Ottersweier, while the Norwegian company, Crown norge has its focus on innovative professional tools.

The family business ZÜND is primarily occupied with the development and manufacturing of multifunctional digital flatbed cutters. The company customers are commercial service providers and industrial companies from the graphic industry, packaging industry, textile and leather branches or technical textile and composite markets. The company as well as other subsidiary companies will demonstrate at viscom the most recent developments, best practices and innovations in the advertising technology area.

Exhibition of advertising technology changing

Not only the exhibitors at viscom are occupied with the demands, which the advertising technology must meet on a daily basis. The framework programme also offers a lot of additional expert know-how. The viscom Friday will see the advertising technology and new commercial fields offered here. In three sessions, interested parties will experience how they maintain new technical options and innovative production processes for added efficiency. The topics are: "Storytelling for space. How digital pressure changes interior design", "Sensuality generates sense" and "New processes for new business worlds". In 2015, viscom visitors again also expect day-long workshops on Corel and Adobe software.

Award: designmaker

The designmaker competition is primarily aimed at sign makers, graphics companies and advertising agencies that deal with designing visual motifs and the advertising technology behind their implementation. This year, the subject of "fast forward" must be implemented for several advertising vehicles as best as possible. The competition acts as a bridge between the creative industries and advertising technology. Applications are welcome from all creative people until mid-September. The award ceremony will take place on 4 November at viscom.
