MIPCOM launches new "Into the Stream" OTT & digital channel distribution programme

31 Jul 2015

MIPCOM 2015 will inaugurate Into The Stream , a brand new conference programme exploring the changing global video ecosystem and content distribution strategies across every platform.

This programme will create a space for cable and satellite, OTT (over-the-top) and streaming services, channels and leading media groups to meet, and provide a forum dedicated to territorial expansion and digital transformation.

Organised by Reed MIDEM, the 31st edition of the MIPCOM global entertainment content market takes place in Cannes from 5-8 October. The Into The Stream programme is presented in partnership with Striim.in, Magine, PWC, Globecast and EbonyLife and will have three verticals...

Daily sessions and keynotes will explore the digital transformation of traditional broadcasting groups, showcasing best-in-class OTT & direct-to-customer offerings and digital programming strategies. Giorgio Stock, President EMEA, Turner Broadcasting System, Amanda Hill, Chief Creative Officer, International, A+E Networks; Sharon Tal Yguado, EVP Scripted Programming and Original Development at Fox International Channels and Ziba Kaboli-Gerbrands, Director Content Acquisition, Roku are among a stellar cast of execs taking part in the Into the Stream panels.

On Tuesday 6 October, the "Carriage Deal Forum: Channels Everywhere" will offer a full-day programme focusing on territorial expansion tactics that will examine the latest channel launches and new offerings from the world’s leading delivery platforms. Exclusive matchmaking sessions will feature one-to-one meetings between platforms, OTT services and channels.

On Wednesday 7 October, the third strand is the "OTT and Global TV Channel Strategy Summit", a closed-door event aimed at facilitating high-level networking between multiservice operators, OTT platforms, channels, streaming services and leading media groups. This summit will discuss the new paradigms behind content access strategies and their impact on existing business models.
