FIBO, the largest fitness trade show, continues on growth course

25 Nov 2014

See the innovations and find inspiration for your own business: there are plenty of reasons to go and visit FIBO in Cologne. The world’s largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health will be held in Cologne from 9-12 April 2015. The preparations for the industry event par excellence are already going ahead at full speed.

As 90 percent of the exhibition space has already been booked, FIBO is expected to grow by another 3,000 sqm. Among the exhibitors are leading international players such as Amer Sports/Precor, gym 80, Johnson Health Tec, Life Fitness, MoveToLive or Technogym.

International attendance

FIBO, which has been the industry’s most important annual meeting place for many decades in Germany, is now also steadily gaining in relevance for international gym operators. For some time now, a quarter of the visitors have hailed from abroad. One of them has been Petro Hameleers, the owner of Anytime Fitness Benelux. He commented, “FIBO as a global fitness event is a fixed appointment in my diary every year. For me it is a great place to see innovations and get ideas for my business.”

Peter Innemee, CEO Sportcity/FitforFree in the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland also realises the importance of a global industry meeting place, saying, “FIBO is not only the world’s largest trade show in its field, it is also the best event for networking and for meeting industry players from all around the globe.”

Another with firm plans to visit FIBO is Mike Apple, International VP of Hard Candy Fitness Europe. He comments, “FIBO is getting bigger and better than ever, so of course I will be back in Cologne in April 2015. Besides, the European Health & Fitness Forum on 8 April is a must attend event at the start of the trade show.”

Fitness, wellness and health from A to Z

Once again, the trade show is subdivided by themes into in several segments. Three clearly defined pillars structure the products and services presented to visitors: FIBO Expert, FIBO Passion and FIBO POWER.

Among these, FIBO Expert is predominantly the FIBO for the professional visitors who can locate information here in a targeted manner, depending on their specialist focus. The exhibitors showcase innovations in the fields of training equipment, med, corporate fitness, wellness & beauty, sports nutrition, interior, services, group fitness, functional training and trading. The largest area will be occupied by companies offering training equipment. Hall 7 will again take over the function of central ‘Health Hall’. This is the home of FIBO MED which addresses trade visitors from the health sector, such as physicians, physiotherapists, hospitals, health insurance providers or health oriented gyms.

New: CORPORATE FITNESS

In 2015 the topic of Corporate Fitness will be given even more attention at FIBO. Corporate fitness is steadily gaining in importance as part of health promotion in the workplace, since the employees’ physical health is related to large extent to their physical fitness. This section is designed to accommodate exhibitors such as company sports clubs, industrial health management consultants, digital health coaches, companies offering products and services in the fields of ergonomics, nutrition or training concepts, team building and incentives, fitness associations and health insurance providers.

WELLNESS & BEAUTY with new offers and partners

The focus in the WELLNESS & BEAUTY segment will be on themes such as sun-tanning concepts, saunas and steam baths, relaxation, device-based applications and medical wellness, equipment, body care products, and training and continuing education. By way of further development, FIBO is planning an extensive supporting programme for 2015, consisting of lectures, guided tours and a VIP programme.

FIBO Passion: Show and shopping

Meet like-minded people, get specialist advice and even get active themselves is what visitors can do in the FIBO Passion segment. This is where the crowds will be jostling for space again during the private visitors’ weekend. In 2015 the shopping segment, in particular, is to be strengthened. New trends and special discount offers from the major sports brands will be waiting for the visitors. The highlight is the stage in Hall 5.2 where new workouts will be presented each day. On all four days of FIBO, Hall 5.1 will be the venue of the DFAV Convention powered by Reebok. Participants can choose from a range of workout units on three training areas as well as a Functional Training Area, and a range of theory sessions will also be offered.

FIBO POWER – from Fashion to Supplements

FIBO POWER is set to be stronger than ever in 2015. With its exhibition areas FIBO POWER Supplements, FIBO POWER Fashion, FIBO POWER Martial Arts and FIBO POWER Events, it offers business and action for trade and private visitors.

FIBO ticket sales starting in November

There will be a limit of 29,000 private visitor tickets for each Saturday and Sunday, but there is no limit for trade visitors. The end consumer tickets for both days will be available exclusively through the online Ticketshop. Ticket sales for FIBO and FIBO POWER 2015 started in November at www.fibo.de/tickets_7.html
